Originally called Harbord, Freshwater is a suburb on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, New South Wales.
Known for its family friendly, laid-back village vibe, Freshwater is located 17 km northeast of the Sydney CBD in the local government area of the Northern Beaches Council.
Freshwater Beach is a stunning, sheltered beach ideal for the whole family. Nestled between two headlands, there are walks south to Manly and north to Curl Curl – the latter being part of a longer coastal walk to Dee Why and beyond.
The beach’s protected position ensures it escapes the majority of the summer nor’easter and receives relatively consistent waves along its whole length due to some sandbanks. Freshwater is popular with swimmers, body boarders, stand up paddle boarders and surfers.
Away from the beach, there are local primary schools and a good selection of childcare facilities. You are a short walk from Freshwater Village where you can browse a growing number of boutique shops, relax and enjoy the food at cafes and restaurants.
The newly renovated Harbord Diggers on the headland is a great place for families and friends to catch up with a variety of entertainment and dining options.
Properties are varied in style and type, so there is definitely something for everyone – from families to professionals, buyers, investors or tenants.
