South Curl Curl is for those who want to enjoy a relaxed, outdoor, beachy lifestyle.
Surfing at Curl Curl is considered one of Sydney’s top beaches. The beach faces east-southeast and has fantastic wave conditions for surfing.
The beach itself is 1.2km long and divided into North Curl Curl and South Curl Curl with surf clubs at each end. At the southern end, the child-friendly ocean swimming pool and café are big draws for locals.
They say go where the locals go, and that’s certainly true for the beach at South Curl Curl. When you’re looking for a local beach experience, this is the place to go as very few tourists make it far beyond Manly Beach. A bonus is that there is plenty of parking!
The large grassed area behind the beach is popular with walkers, runners, picnickers and dog owners, having recently had an upgrade to its pathways.
South Curly is quiet and relaxed, with a focus on the outdoor lifestyle. There are plenty of scenic walking/running routes that stretch from Curl Curl south to Freshwater, Queenscliff and Manly – and north to Dee Why and beyond. Living here is like being on holiday every day.
